Learning at Creekside

 Student Learning

· Creekside has achieved the highest Colorado rating in achievement for the past three years, rating excellent in overall academic performance and showing high growth of students over a years’ time, making Creekside a John Irwin School of Excellence for three years in a row.

· Creekside is committed to excellent writing and reading skills in language arts, social studies, math, and science. Our math scores are among the best in the state.  We continue to make gains in all academic areas.  Students participate in our writing and reading across the curriculum initiative each semester.

Community Engagement

· Every student at Creekside is encouraged to partake in a service learning project led by their grade level team. Learning about the world and making it a better place ensures students will make connections with people and enhance their quality of life.

· Examples of student work this year included fundraising for the Junior Diabetes foundation, team giving to Adopt-a-Child, Woodmoor forestry education and clean-up, penpal and friendship outreach to an elementary school in the Pikes Peak region, and a walk and fundraiser in memory of Nancy Fritsche.

The Whole Child

· We constantly seek ways to engage your child with their interest’s in mind. In 2009-10, all students at Creekside will build strong relationships with an advocate in small advisory groups, allowing teachers to better know their students and guide them through example and care.

· Our outstanding exploratory, club, and athletic programs give our students a chance to shine. See the reverse for the many opportunities available to Creekside students.
